Soledad is a Spanish name meaning "loneliness" or "solitude". It's often used as one of the many titles for the Virgin Mary--Nuestra Señora de Soledad, or, Our Lady of Loneliness--in reference to her grieving during the period between Good Friday (when
Jesus was crucified) and
Easter Sunday (the Resurrection).
