[Facts] Six Appeal...
in reply to a message by Mike C
Actually, the whole thing about 6-letter names being "Satanic" is entirely a Nanaea invention. :) Back in December I posted my concept of what comprises a "Satanic name" -- a first, middle, and last name with each consisting of 6 letters. So that the resulting name came out in a 6-6-6 style (traditional Number of the Beast).
So, in order for *you* to proudly bear a Satanic name of your very own, Mike, we'd have to slightly change your name to: Mykael (6 letters!) - something - Cambel (6 letters!)
So, what *is* your middle name, anyway? Just curious. :)

My middle name is Dylan. Dyllan?
..Mykael Dyllan Cambel
..Mykael Dyllan Cambel
before the other anagrammers get to it....
I am "lamely, blackly named" Mykael Dyllan Cambel. (not meaning to insult your Satanic naming method, Nan ;)

The way things are headed, our favorite web site will soon be renamed: "Behind the Name: the etymology, history and anargammatization of first names"
Here are some goodies pinched from the OED:

"The Cabbalists among the Jews are professed anagrammists." (Chambers, 1727–51)
"The practice of anagrammatism was by no means uncommon among the Greeks." (H. B. Wheatley, 1862)
"Calvin anagrammatized his name, ‘Rabelaesius’ into Rabie Laesus [Afflicted with madness]." (1862 Macm. Mag. Nov. 23)
"Louis XIII appointed the Provençal Thomas Billen to be his Royal Anagrammatist." (Southey Doctor clxxix.,1862)
"Whatsoever he parrot (or if you will have it anagrammatically) prater-like twattles." (Charac., 1660)
"The question put by Pilate to Jesus Christ: Quid est veritas? which anagrammatically makes, Est vir qui adest." (Chambers Cycl, 1751)
