I always expect it to be Beverley with an -e-; I take this to be the British version, and the -ly one the American. I've got personal issues with the only Beverley I've ever known well, but i suppose there's nothing wrong with the name itself. Definitely a girl name; probably something one-syllabled would balance it, depending on the ln of course.
