Diego/ Iago are the Spanish forms of James, and also Jacobo can mean James too. Jaime is a more modern version that if I recall correctly is actually Iberian.
Anyway, I agree. Jaime just seems incorrect as "JAY-mee"... but as I said, I see it used as often as Jamie. i don't get it.
