There are only two vowels: the two a sounds. The ny is like the gn one gets in Italian or French. The first syllable is stressed, and the a is like the a in far, but without the r of course. Try humming, using an n sound instead of the usual m. Then say YA-la. The unstressed a is a bit shorter of course.It's a very pretty antelope, but I'm sceptical about it as a name because it is also a mine-proofed armoured personnel carrier, and I can't imagine calling a baby girl after a military vehicle.ETA extra phonetics
