[Opinions] Re: Lantana

Lantana, in its natural habitat, might be acceptable. In my country, it's actually illegal to grow it, so noxious is it! Birds love the berries and spread the seeds far and wide, where the bushes grow into dense, thorny thickets which often centre around existing trees (where the birds perch ...) so that animals and people can't benefit from the shade. Cattle which eat it come to taste of the pungent leaves so their milk can't be sold. The flowers are pretty, but the associations ... ! I know a botanist who was researching ways of eradicating it in the wild, and to take out a mature plant (and they grow fast) he needed welder's gloves.
So, use it with pleasure but I won't be joining you.
