The Jody in that song is male? Isn't the line just "Jody got married"? I always assumed she was a female Jodie.
I like Jody and Jodie on a girl, not on a boy. Jory might be cute if it were short for something, too cutesy on its own.
I find Jody dated in general, to the 70s. I always assumed it had been way more common back then. But only Jodi ever made the top 100 and wasn't high up. Oh and I first thought Jory was feminine as well. They both sound girly.
I don't know which one I prefer. I guess Jory if it's a nickname. For Jordan or something. I like Jody on a girl.

Well, the song goes like this:

Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I should've known we'd never get far
I guess I assumed Jody was a man because of the line "me and some guys..." And the lyrics sites I've looked at spell it Jody.

Oh I thought they were unrelated. I mean that he first talks about the band and then about two friends, Jimmy and Jody. But I guess I was wrong. I like the Jody spelling for a girl, btw.
