Weird for me too. I just (10ish minutes ago) started reading a book about rocks and fossils. "Ammonites (right) were named after the Egyptian god Ammon," is a sentence I read on the 3rd page.
Anyways, I really like the name Ammon. I think it's quite handsome with the Ah-mun pronunciation.
