Funny that you post about Marie because I've been thinking about this name quite a bit lately. My mom's first name is Mary and I've thought about the names Mary, Marie, and Maria to honor her someday. I really like Marie, both as a first name and a middle name. I think it would be quite refreshing in the first name spot. Plus, it is relatively underused these days but most English speakers can easily pronounce and spell it. It's short so a child could easily learn how to spell her own name. I really like Marie. I don't think it's boring at all.
