I have a sophomoric, dirty mind, I'm afraid. I hear Thatch, think "snatch," and it all goes to Hell in a handbasket. :/ Sorry!
The similar Fletcher doesn't have that problem, so I like it a bit better.
I think Thatcher would age well; I just would have a hard time taking his name seriously.

Fletcher always reminds me of...
the less than desireable slang insult 'felcher,' which is a disturbing reference. :-/

It's a sexual practice that's achieved a lot of, ah, notoriety. I won't go into detail, but sufficed to say it'd be a damning reference for a kid in high school.

This cracked me up because I say this quite a bit, and many people find it to be so "old-fashioned". Glad to see a "youngin'" using it, lol. My best friend said it wrong once as '...we're all going to hell in a handbag' so now we often say that, and crack ourselves up. :b (Maybe I need to get out more. LOL.)
