It reminds me a little of Vernon, and I see Ryan in it.
I also thought of Varian, which is rarely used but when it is used, it's for boys.
So I'm leaning towards it being masculine. It's not very appealing to me, but neither is it very unappealing. It's interesting and nifty.
The word Very in it, is probably my least favorite thing. The pronunciation is ambiguous (I've never heard of Veryan). I'm assuming it's pronounced like "Very-an" or "Vair-yun" (?) but it could be Veh-Ryan or Vurr-Yan.
I think it works for a gal too, like Vivian does, and like Devon does. Just a little more appealing for a guy, imo.
