Lydia, our youngest was three and half then, and we had a wonderful nanny looking after the children when I worked. So Henry and I decided to have one more child. We didn't tell the children until I went in for my first check-up. They were excited and all wanted to come with me, but wasn't going to have five kids come. So it was only Henry and me when we were told that we had not one baby, but two!Honestly, I thought the doctor was joking. I mean, the doctor knew that we already had two sets of twins. But no, I was really expecting my third set of twins. Something seems to be really strange. I am a twin, and I know it runs in families, but three sets of twins is pushing it. The doctor asked me if I had been taking fertility treatment; it took me about five minutes to stop laughing.I told the kids when I got home. I think Lydia was the only one who believed me, the twins thought I was kidding. When I assured them I was not, all four of them started laughing, and soon we were all laughing. I didn't want to call anybody that evening, but I got a call from my twin sister Sophia. Right after I said "hello", she exclaimed that she was expecting twins. That, of course, got me laughing again. When she asked what was so funny, I told her about my pregnancy. It was a very funny evening. Anyhow, our twins were born a year ago today: Elijah Thierry and Sophia Winter (named after my sister, who named her girl Maria). They are both very happy babies (must be all the laughing). Our older children are doing very good in school. Norie June and Rosie are in the same class, but we've found that Dylan and Ike do better in separate classes. Lydia loves kindergarten. Also, Henry got arrested recently. I got a huge shock when they told me over the phone, but by the time I arrived it turned out it all was a big mix-up and my hubby was free to go.Our jobs: Henry is the editor of a magazine for young adults, and I am a part-time photographer (you try being a mother of seven AND working full time - believe me, it doesn't work). Thankfully, Henry doesn't have a long workday, so he's home with the children a lot, too.Number 1-10: 9
Do you want more children from the original family? God, no.
