John meets his father for the first time in his life. Why, and what happens?
John and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our first child, a son, we've named James William! James came into the world happy and healthy, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces; 19 1/2 inches long. His arrival was a special one for John, particuarly, who had recently met his own father for the first time.
John's father wasn't present in his life throughout his childhood, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather (whom he considers to be his father). However, curiousity got the best of him as an adult, when he found he would be having a child of his own, and so he wanted to meet him. The meeting was arranged as a dinner at our house, and he really seems to be quite a nice person, who at a young age, thought he wasn't ready for fatherhood. He and John have decided to remain in contact, and he has already met his grandson, as well.
