I very much dislike this name. I won't say that I dislike it as much as I do
Madison or
McKenzie, because it does at least have a history, a tradition, it's Biblical, and it has an eighteenth-century flavor. So I guess I'd still rather see a little
Abigail than a little
Madison. Still, I really dislike it just because I think it's one of the ugliest names out there. Its present popularity mystifies me. Someone here suggested that
Abigail was only popular because of the nickname
Abby, but
Abby to me is just as unattractive as
Abigail.
I've never known an
Abigail.
