I don't like the nickname Willie / Willy due to the fact that it's slang for penis. I know this isn't the case in the U.S.A - don't know about Canada. I suppose though that as a nickname it's fine, if the child doesn't like it he won't need to use it.I don't think that Lolita is usable.

Yeah, Willy's not used at all here as slang for penis (Dick is), but I wondered if the British use of it has become a universally known thing.

actuallyI'm not English, but I have spent some time in the UK, and I get the impression"willie" is not as vulgar as dick, it's more the kind of word children might use?

Yes, it's what children say and what adults say when they are talking to a child. A bit like children say wee or pee instead of urine/urinate.Not a name I'd consider using as it would provoke too many sniggers and daft comments from adults and children!
