In the five years since the war, Demetrius and Alexandra's family has gone through some significant changes. As it turns out, Nerissa's romance with the stable boy turned serious and two years after they met, Thomas proposed to her. Nerissa knew her mother would never approve of her marrying below her social standing, so one night the two quietly eloped, with only Nerissa's cousin Ione and Thomas' brother in attendance. Nerissa had planned to keep it a secret from her mother for as long as possible, but when her parents began talking about possible marriage prospects for her, she revealed that they were too late. As expected, Alexandra was furious. She couldn't believe that her daughter would do that and refused to even meet Thomas. She was also angry that they could never have the elaborate celebration like that of the marriage of Princess Chloe. Demetrius wasn't thrilled that Nerissa lied to them, but realized that they were in love and could make theur own decisions. After all, his parents hadn't approved of Alexandra at all.
Antonius has been greatly enjoying the military academy, much to his surprise. He misses his family, especially Alexandra, but loves all of his military training. Recently, one of the noble families came to Demetrius with a proposal of bethrothal for Antonius to marry their daughter Juliette. She's a few years younger than Antonius, but politically the match would be a good one. Again, Alexandra was furious that her husband would decide their son's future without so much as consulting either Antonius or Alexandra, as she did not want her son to be engaged so young. She was not the only one upset by the engagement. Dominic has already proven himself to be a flirt, even at such a young age. He'd met Juliette the year before and two hit it off immediately. Dominic developed a crush on her, and was immensly dissapointed when he found out that she'd be engaged to his brother.
Arista has already grown into a beautiful young lady. She has already recieved several marriage proposals, but neither of her parents would allow her to be bethrothed so young. She has developed a horribly stuck up attitude and has inherited her mother's arrogance. Milania has proven to be a very loud, rambunctious, active little girl. She's always running around getting into some kind of mess and is a handful.
