I've always loved
Amy. It makes me think of the love triangle of
Amy Robsart,
Robert Dudley and
Elizabeth I of England. Very romantic and historic. I also love how short and friendly it is. Overuse doesn't bother me if I really love a name. Since I associate the name with historic figures it doesn't feel dated to the 1970's at all.
I have a house guest coming in a few weeks named
Amy. She's my dh's niece. She's in her twenties, maybe closer to thirty. She lives up to my vision of an
Amy to a T.
