Well, I always approve of family names as mns, and surnames are a very popular choice whether honouring or not, so I'd say, go for it! Rather that than the silly and ephemeral Miley!
In several of John le Carre's earlier books there is a wonderful character called George Smiley and mostly referred to by his ln, so if you want a literary reference to back up Great-Grandpa, that's a good one.
