[Opinions] Re: Naveah!!
Without commenting on the name itself, if you wish to name your daughter Nevaeh, *please* take careful note of the spelling. It is Nevaeh. Not Navaeh. If you spell it "Na-", then you have misspelled 'heaven' as 'heavan', ruining the entire point of the name. If you like the meaning of 'heaven', perhaps you might like names such as:Celeste -- means 'heavenly' or 'celestial'
Celestina -- also means 'heavenly' or 'celestial'
Celia -- means 'heaven'
Alya - means 'heaven'Nevaeh, while it may seem nice to you now, will seem dated and girlish on your daughter when she is a grown woman. A name like Celeste or Celia is dignified and will grow with her from a little girl to a woman. You will assuredly receive positive comments on a name like Celeste or Celia as being unusual and distinctive but also lovely, graceful, and feminine. You also won't have to feel or be defensive about your name choice if you choose something like Celeste or Celia. :P I am also Christian, and I can understand the appeal of the meaning of Nevaeh. But I think names like Celeste and Celia are more elegant and timeless options to convey this meaning. I promise you your daughter will receive praise for her name if it is Celeste or Celia, as I have known a girl named Celeste who is frequently commented to on how lovely and distinctive her name is, as is the one Celia I have known. Names are important, because they influence and 'carry' our self-identity and self-perception, and also influence how others perceive us (whether we like it or not). Give your daughter a name she can carry proudly from childhood to adulthood, beyond this decade into the decades ahead. Also, if your name is Lucy as your username indicates, then Celeste or Celia would go perfectly with Lucy! It seems fitting that a Lucy (meaning 'light') would have a daughter with a name meaning 'celestial' or 'heavenly'. Lucy and Celeste, I think that sounds wonderful. :)Blessings to you, I hope you have an easy, complication-free birth of your baby girl! :)
