Is the association with Mariah Carey too much?
I've been digging it since seeing the movie Pride and Prejudice recently, and hearing it on one of the characters... someone very much NOT an underdressed pop diva. ;)
I had a friend when I was little named Maria (pronounced like Mariah) and that's also a very positive association for me. I'd spell it with the H though, as that always caused her problems. (She was named after the song "They Call the Wind Maria." I don't know why the song is spelled that way though.)
Anyway, any thoughts on the name?
