[Opinions] Re: Colyer???
in reply to a message by AmberJ
Colyer was the last name of the deputy head at my secondary school. Nice man.
I pronounce it COL-yer. According to my book, Colyer is a varient of Collier, an occuaptional surname belonging to those who were a charcoal burner or a gatherer/seller of coal.
I don't like it, it's too much of a surname to me.

So... let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the king of the potato people and you're telling me you're completely sane?

Considering the number of weird names I'm seeing at the preschool, maybe I should invest in it..
Thanks for your help

The Oxford Names Companion. I was looking in the surname section rather than the first names because I've only known it as a surname.
