Well, it makes sense as a nickname for Gemma, and I call my friend Gemma this sometimes, automatically. (I shorten nearly all names to the first syllable- Rachel is Rach, Stella is Stell, Zoe is Zo, and so on and so forth. I'm just incredibly lazy and don't want to say the whole name!)

As a full name, not so much. Way too precious, and no substance to it. I don't like it at all.
