[Opinions] Allie?
WDYT of Allie as a full first name instead of as a nickname? Or just of Allie in general?
Thanks in advance.

It's a cute, sweet name. I'm sure Allie is a better name, even though it is originally a nickname, than some other "full" names.
Well, Allie is pretty short so I'd rather see it as a nn. But I think it could stand alright on it's own. I myself would use Alexandra (or Allison, Alicia, Angelina... some A name) so she had another option when she got older if she didn't like Allie or thought it was too childish. BUT that's just me, I'm not big on nn names in general... with a few exceptions like Kate. For the most part I think Allie would be fine on it's own. I do prefer spellings Ally and Alley though. It's a cute name and I like it.
I really like Allie... as a nickname. I love it as a nn for Alexandrea, but would never use Allie on its own.
I dislike all nns used as full names. Why not leave your child the choice to use a more "adult" version or a name or a different nn? Until then, you can still use the nn you prefer, what difference does it really make if there's a full name on the dotted line, even if it's almost never going to be used?
(this is not a personal attack, it's just my thoughts on the practice of using nns as full names)
As concerns Allie as such, I think it's a pretty nn for Alexandra, Alice etc.
