Dear all,
As you may know, this has been a difficult year for us.
First off, our son Jamie got his girlfriend Angela pregnant, a shock that still has me reeling. I thought that we'd raised a good boy and I had no idea the kind of things he was up to. Luckily, I quickly realised that Jamie is as good boy and he'd made a mistake. Unfortunately for Angela, her parents weren't so forgiving and demanded she had an abortion. Jamie and Ange talked it through and both decided that there was no way they could abort their baby and that they'd do anything to keep the child. We agreed that Angela and the baby could move in with us (we're now Angela's legal guardians) on the condition that Jamie and Angela were mature and responsible about everything.
They've both coped brilliantly and I couldn't be more proud of them although it is exceedingly difficult for them to cope with such drastically altered lives. Last year they weren't even teenagers, now they're parents living together (albeit in separate rooms).
At the end of the summer their baby, a boy named Lucas Aaron (Luke) was born. He's an absolute angel and we all love him to pieces. He looks just like his mummy but had his daddy's eyes. Both Jamie and Angela are doing fantastic.
