-Vera Yekaterina is a 16 year old girl from Russia. She was assualted, resulting in a pregnancy or a little boy who she named Aleksei Grigori, who's now 2 months old and healthy. Vera enjoys writing, reading, running, swimming, old movies, acting, and dance. She suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of her attack and would benefit from talking with a psychiatrist.
Keep us updated on how Vera and Aleksei asjust.

It has been one year since the adoption of Vera and her son Aleksei was finalized. They each have their own bedroom, though Aleksei's is very close to Vera's to help her feel more comfortable.
Vera has been seeing a psychiatrist for about 10 months now. Her PTSD episodes are much fewer and far between. Vera seems to really enjoy going with us on camping trips. She says the exercise and fresh air help her feel calm and safe. Aleksei loves camping because he gets to eat smores! He has a strong sweet tooth.
Eli has been getting along fairly well with Vera. He thinks of her as a big sister, which also means he has his moments where he dislikes her intensely. All in all, they get along better than expected. Eli and Alek get along great. Eli is already teaching him about throwing balls and catching them. He says Alek is going to be a great baseball player.
Elly and Vera seem to have a very close bond. Vera loves helping around the house and being a mommy. Elly loves being a nana. Because of Vera's PTSD and Aleksei, Elly felt it was best to homeschool Vera until she graduates. Then she can choose to go to college or not.
