[Opinions] Annunziata and Paolo
Yep, two very Italian names, despite me not being Italian at all (and being surrounded with people named Giovanni, Gianna and Cinzia). Anyway, I've recently started liking Paolo a lot, and in the Napoleon post a ways down came across Annunziata, prn ah-noon-see-AH-tuh. I don't think Paolo needs a nn, but Annunziata definately would, perhaps Anne, Zia, Ziata or Ada. Anyway here are some combos for both (Paolo lent itself to combos much more easily). Any other suggestions for both combos and NNs are welcome.
Damaris Annunziata
Eris Annunziata
Annunziata Josephine
Juliet Annunziata
Thais Annunziata
Annunziata Vivian
Paolo Atticus
Paolo Ares
Paolo August
Paolo Constantine
Paolo Dimitri
Jason Paolo
Paolo Leopold (does anybody else get horribly reminded of the Belgian king? I think I make too many historical connections...)
Paolo Livius
Matthieu Paolo
Paolo Phineas
Damaris Annunziata
Eris Annunziata
Annunziata Josephine
Juliet Annunziata
Thais Annunziata
Annunziata Vivian
Paolo Atticus
Paolo Ares
Paolo August
Paolo Constantine
Paolo Dimitri
Jason Paolo
Paolo Leopold (does anybody else get horribly reminded of the Belgian king? I think I make too many historical connections...)
Paolo Livius
Matthieu Paolo
Paolo Phineas

I love Annunziata and Paolo (and Cinzia)!
Damaris Annunziata - beautiful, if a bit of a mouthful
Eris Annunziata - looks like Erin (blah), nasty meaning
Annunziata Josephine - like this, but less than Damaris Annunziata, and it's even more of a mouthful
Juliet Annunziata - Juliet seems too cute and twee to go with the forceful Annunziata
Thais Annunziata - great
Annunziata Vivian - wonderful
Paolo Atticus - neat, but Atticus is such a yuppie baby name now, I can't stand it
Paolo Ares - very strong, almost too masculine
Paolo August - handsome
Paolo Constantine - love it
Paolo Dimitri - terrific
Jason Paolo - wonderful! I feel like Jason's getting an early revival on this board (among name nerds). It's such a nice name.
Paolo Leopold (does anybody else get horribly reminded of the Belgian king? I think I make too many historical connections...) - I am reminded of the king, but not exclusively. There's also Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, after all! I don't like the combo because the Ls run together.
Paolo Livius - again, the Ls are a problem
Matthieu Paolo - flow seems off, prefer Paolo Matthieu, but am not too fond of it either way
Paolo Phineas - blah, Phineas seems too precious
Damaris Annunziata - beautiful, if a bit of a mouthful

Annunziata is on my long list of names. Love it! It's so over the top that it's cool. I suppose Nunzi is out as a nn -- too similar to an infamous political group? But you could still use Annunziata as a fn. The nn Annie is easily attained.
Your list is delightful. My favorite combination is Damaris Annunziata.
Paolo / Paola is great. The "pow" sound always makes me smile. Paolo Dmitri, Paolo Constantine and Paolo Livius are my favorites from your list.
By the way, don't worry about Leopold. I would think that reminding people of a historic figure is a plus in a name, not a minus, unless the historic figure did something awful. Personally, Leopold reminds me of the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs, dressed in a tuxedo jacket, walks to the front of an orchestra. Hushed whispers of "Leopold!" are heard. It's a reference to Mr. Stokowski (sp?). It's very cute. The other thing that comes to mind is Queen Victoria's son, but that's even more obscure. I love the name Leopold, but I don't like the way it sounds next to Paolo.

Yeah, Leopold did something awful
Believe me, I'm totally for honoring historical figures in names (being the history-obsessed girl I am), but King Leopold or Belgium killed millions upon imperialism of the Congo. That's why I feel I can't use it. I guess it'll have to go alongside Antoinette with names I love but can't use. =[

But...
there were lots of Leopolds!
And Marie Antoinette's real name was Maria Antonia! It was only when she moved to France that they changed the most common transcription of her name! Are you going to say you can't use any female form of Anthony?
Lots of Leopolds, going back hundreds and hundreds of years! Even before the Renaissance they went back hundreds and hundreds of years! Will you let one spoil everything?

Oh. :-(
I don't care for Annunziata, though I like the nn Ziata. If used, I prefer it as a mn, and like your combo Juliet Annunziata best.
I like Paulo very much, and like the combos Paolo Atticus and Paolo Augustino (prefer Augustino over August). I dont' care for the other combos listed.

Well, for me Annunziata feels very dated as well as somewhat working class. It's the kind of name that, along with Addolorata, Concetta, Immacolata, used to be very popular but has pretty much fallen entirely out of use. Moreover, most Annunziata's seemed to go by Nunzia (which is quite ugly IMO). This said, Annunziata Vivian is kinda cute.
Paolo is my dad's name, so if I ever have a son I'd probably try to use it for honouring purposes, but more as a mn because I find it a bit boring. Paolo Dimitri and Paolo Constantine work well and yes, I too think of the King of Belgium when I see Leopold (possibly because of a conference I went to) but it doesn't bother me. There's also a bunch of Austrian emperors by the name.
