[Opinions] Re: Gianni or Johnnie?
I think Gianni looks a little more feminine written out. I'm also biased a little, since my husband's name is Johnny (legal name on the birth certificate...LOL) I think Gianna Albertine is very nice, and well thought out, and has a strong meaning for both of you. Bravo!

Thank you. :)It's still up in the air, since really Gianna and Gianni are diminutives for Giovanna and Giovanni, names that neither my husband or I like. I think that Gianni is a little more unique, but I also worry that it takes away from the namesake a little. My father's nickname as a small child was "Johnny," so I have that sound in my head... "Johnny Albert." At the same time, I don't want to veer too far from the child's real name.My daughter Charlotte was "Charlie" when she was very little, but it never stuck. There's a chance that the nickname for this one won't stick, either. After all, I've never been a "Becky." NEVER.
