[Opinions] How are you pronouncing it?

I really like VER-a, but not VEER-ah. I don't think its stuffy at all. It's really cute.

I have only ever heard it as VEER-ah. And VER-a with my accent just doesn't sound right.

The English pronunciation is "VEER-uh." The Russians pronounce it, "VYEHR-uh." Who pronounces it, "VEH-ruh?" I've never heard that. (For what it's worth, I'm in the U.S. and was raised by English / Irish parents and a heavy dose of PBS / BBC.)I'm not trying to be snotty. I'm really interested because mafiosa has heard the same pronunciation as you.

In Croatia Vera is 'VEH-rah' and Vjera is 'VYEH-rah'.

I say VEH-ruh. Although I think that's just an accent thing, because I tried saying VEER-uh and I felt like I was putting on a really phony American accent. Plus I speak too fast anyway. (I'm from New Zealand)
