wow, this is a bit of a gp fantasy name for me, ever since I read the Farseer trilogy where the main characters daughter is Nettle.
I really don't know why I like it though, since it doesn't have the nicest associations! And for me that's why it should really stay within the realms of fantasy. Naming your child after a stinging weed just doesn't work on a real child, and I can see her being teased a lot.
