You must not know many professors! :)
The chairperson of my department is a huge Harry Potter fan.
One of the English professors at my university has been teaching a course on Tolkien for years, and he loves George R. R. Martin, as I do.
And of course most of the computer science professors I know are big fantasy and/or science fiction fans, but that sort of goes with the "geeky" territory. :)
