My friend's daughter has celiac disease and I now hear this in the name Cecilia. I also wondered if it's sounds overly fussy and upper class. But I really love this name. I quite like Celie as a nn.

I don't think it is overly fussy, especially with the nn Celie, which is really great. I don't think of Celiac disease, and I am a student nurse.
However, if you were going to name a child Addison or Gonorrhea, then we would have a talk. :)

but i don't see any relationship b/n Cecilia and Coeliacs disease..
i agree its nowhere near as bad as a baby chlamydia or gonorrhea..
I'm sure given that there are countless diseases someone somewhere is bound to have the name of one as their name and may never even know. after all some are named after people..
