You can't pronounce things in ways they aren't meant to be pronounced. It's incorrect and confusing.
When I was a kid I liked the name Emil, but I thought it was pronounced EM-əl, like Emily without the ee. Later I found out it was e-MEEL, and I don't like it. So I keep the incorrectly pronounced version to myself as a GP.
