It bothers me because I can't help but pronounce it re-beck-ANNE.
It doesn't exactly sound cheesy modern to me, either. It sounds sort of semi-literate Puritan.

I don't know if it has a "proper" pronunciation, because it's not really a "proper" name, is it. It's a Rebeccanne free-for-all!
