It's very upbeat, quirky, and adorable. I think Dolores is kind of a fun full name for it because it has about the opposite feel. I can picture teenage Dolores loathing her depressing name, so she goes by the much more cheerful Lolly.
I also really like Lally, which sounds basically the same to me. It's a lot of fun, too.
