Have you ever seen old episodes of "Cheers?" It's a sitcom from the 80's. There's a minor character named
Loretta (sp?). Her dunce of a husband thinks she's the height of sophistication and whenever he says her name he enunciates the heck out of it. The way he says the last syllable, "tuh" is too funny.
Anyway, it made me love the name
Loretta. But I can see where it would make most people dislike it. Her character was kind of a "dull gal with an empty expression on her face." Is that where you got your impression? Just curious.
