I love both
Anya and
Anastasia. While I'm usually a stickler for tradition, I give more latitude to nns since I think they are the place for letting one's imagination soar. So sure,
Anastasia, nn
Anya would be fine. :-)
A co-worker named her dd
Anja, because she said she wanted a Dutch name. I think the spelling is very pretty. Being Irish, the
Aine spelling is also dear to me, but it has a diffrent feeling somehow than
Anya (more exotic).
I would prefer
Anya to be a nn (either or
Anastasia or
Anna), but if it must stand alone, how about:
Anya Katherine /
CatherineAnya CelesteAnya RosalindAnya NicolaAnya MirandaAnya ChloeAnya HermioneAnya PersephoneAnya LilyAnya ThaliaAnya DemetriaAnya TheodoraAnya CallistaAnya VanessaAnya SophieAnya ChristineAnya ValerieAnya SylvieAnya GiseleAnya MargueriteAnya CharlotteAnya LieslAnya LinneaAnya IngridAnya Kirsten (keer-sten)
Anya LivAnya VerityAnya Mileva (mi-LAY-va, Slavic girl's name, Einstein's first wife)
Anya TatianaAnya Natalia /
Natasha /
NatalieAnya MagdalenAnya LilithAnya Miriam /
MaryamAnya SkyeAnya LiviaAnya DamarisAnya Imogen
I know most of thes aren't British, but they just seemed to work with
Anya. Of your combinations, I like
Anya Jacqueline very much, if pronounced similar to the French way, with the stress on the last syllable "-leen." Any
Willow seems a little lacking in substance, but it's not a bad combination either.
Let us know what you think. I'd love to see if anyone came up with a combination that might work.
