[Opinions] Re: Anya
I love both Anya and Anastasia. While I'm usually a stickler for tradition, I give more latitude to nns since I think they are the place for letting one's imagination soar. So sure, Anastasia, nn Anya would be fine. :-)A co-worker named her dd Anja, because she said she wanted a Dutch name. I think the spelling is very pretty. Being Irish, the Aine spelling is also dear to me, but it has a diffrent feeling somehow than Anya (more exotic).I would prefer Anya to be a nn (either or Anastasia or Anna), but if it must stand alone, how about:Anya Katherine / Catherine
Anya Celeste
Anya Rosalind
Anya Nicola
Anya Miranda
Anya Chloe
Anya Hermione
Anya Persephone
Anya Lily
Anya Thalia
Anya Demetria
Anya Theodora
Anya Callista
Anya Vanessa
Anya Sophie
Anya Christine
Anya Valerie
Anya Sylvie
Anya Gisele
Anya Marguerite
Anya Charlotte
Anya Liesl
Anya Linnea
Anya Ingrid
Anya Kirsten (keer-sten)
Anya Liv
Anya Verity
Anya Mileva (mi-LAY-va, Slavic girl's name, Einstein's first wife)
Anya Tatiana
Anya Natalia / Natasha / Natalie
Anya Magdalen
Anya Lilith
Anya Miriam / Maryam
Anya Skye
Anya Livia
Anya Damaris
Anya ImogenI know most of thes aren't British, but they just seemed to work with Anya. Of your combinations, I like Anya Jacqueline very much, if pronounced similar to the French way, with the stress on the last syllable "-leen." Any Willow seems a little lacking in substance, but it's not a bad combination either.Let us know what you think. I'd love to see if anyone came up with a combination that might work.
