It seems a bit trendy-- along the lines of
Wyatt,
Jaylon, and Waverly. It would be okay pronounced WAY-lawn, but I don't really like it this way (I generally don't like o's pronounced as schwas). Overall I think this is a name that fits in with trendy names even though it isn't very popular itself. I'd like
Wayland better (even though it is more surnamey).
