[Opinions] Rad

Can't say I like Radley, Bradley without the "B". Don't know why they just didn't go ahead and use Bradley and call him "Rad" if they want to; it's in there.
Haven't read your other posts so apologies if this was already brought up, but there's a country singer by the name of Radney Foster. Radney doesn't feel so awkward to me as Radley does, perhaps because I'm just used to it since I like the musician, but also probably because it's just a slight bit off of Rodney; doesn't feel too "out there".

I first read that as 'bad'...sorry.
I don't mind it, though where I come from, that's what people call the things that heat their house. (radiator.)
"Mum, have you seen my gloves?"
"Look behind the rad, they may have fallen there."
..being as the radiator was good place to dry wet outdoor clothes.

I don't think it's as barfy as other people seem to. It's fine.
Ditto, it's not my cup of tea but it seems fairly normal as surname-names go.
Agree.
Yeah...
My husband's cousin named her son Radley and they call him Rad. I've heard of one other before two... I just. I can't. Ughhh.

I suppose Radovan was too closely associated with Milosevic. Well, there are worse.
I think it was Radovan Karadzic. Yep, another war criminal.
Oops. Wrong last name. At least you knew where I was going with that.
My word, yes. And my South African children startled me by playing a game featuring a character named Darko. Not very politically correct!
There's also a perfectly respectable female given name round here which raises the odd eyebrow: Nakedi. Pronounced naKAYdee ...
