A very close friend of mine recently had a baby girl, who she named
Polly. I'm unsure whether I like it or not. I think it's very sweet sounding, and will obviously be cute on her as a young child, but I wonder if she will dislike it as an teenager/adult?
I personally think that, with 'cute' names (for example:
Polly,
Betsy,
Kitty,
Missy,
Mimi), it is kinder on the child for them to have it as a nn for a more 'grown-up' first name. Just so that in more 'grown-up' situations, such as job interviews, they can go by their first name to avoid seeming immature.
So, what do you think of the name
Polly? And what could it be a nn for? I was thinking maybe
Paula.
