I like the name
Daphne but as with
Phoebe I don't like it enough to use it as a first name. I encourage other people to use it and I will consider it as a possible mn for a future daughter.
I also dislike the nn Daffy, as well I dislike Daph as a nn. I actually think Daph/ Daf is worse since it sounds so similar to the word daft. I would never use a nn for a daughter named
Daphne and I don't feel that a
Daphne would get an automatic nn except from an impish sibling or a teasing friend or enemy.
