Really? I don't find
James serious at all, just a good, all-purpose name. There are so many namesakes it can evoke anything from '
James and the Giant Peach' to
James Bond,
James Joyce,
James Brown,
James Dean. All so different. Plus you could use
Jim or
Jimmy, if you like those. Apparently a lot of people don't, but I have a big soft spot for them.
I like
Thaddeus too though. I would use
Tad instead of
Thad, however.
Thad sounds thick and clunky to me.
