[Opinions] Re: Thaddeus and James
Really? I don't find James serious at all, just a good, all-purpose name. There are so many namesakes it can evoke anything from 'James and the Giant Peach' to James Bond, James Joyce, James Brown, James Dean. All so different. Plus you could use Jim or Jimmy, if you like those. Apparently a lot of people don't, but I have a big soft spot for them.I like Thaddeus too though. I would use Tad instead of Thad, however. Thad sounds thick and clunky to me.__________________________________The human brain is a haphazard, messy machine that glitches at the slightest, strangest provocation.

I don't really mind the fact it's common. Now that I think about it, all of the James I know in my life kinda ruin it for me. But I know if I actually do name my son James, I would definitely use either Jimmy or Jaime. And plus, I like the nickname Thad because it's clunky

In our case, Thad sounds just like Tad. It's just a way of keeping the spelling closer to the full name. Although I guess some people pronounce Thad the way it looks.

Aha, I like that. Do you pronounce Thaddeus with a distinct 'th-' sound? I suppose you could also go either way with the full name.
