[Opinions] Re: Venus or Aphrodite?

Can I say: Neither? I find naming your daughter aftr a goddess of love, rather pretensious, personally. What if she's not drop dead gorgeous? But IF I was forced to pick one or the other: Venus, more planet like and not quite so loaded as Aphrodite.

Often the point of these either/or questions is to make you pick the lesser of two evils. It's fun that way. I'd never name a daughter either name myself. If I had to choose, I'd pick Aphrodite. I don't like it, but to me Venus is more of a term for a very beautiful woman than Aphrodite is, so Aphrodite would be less embarrassing.
