Hecuba is kind of awesome. It definitely has that witch vibe to it, perhaps because it reminds me of Tituba (one of the accused at Salem) and sounds a bit like Hex, which would make a hilarious yet cool nickname.
I would be excited to see Hecuba, but only because it's unusual. I wouldn't quite know what to make of her parents choice.

I mainly associate it with geometry and Hamlet.
It's interesting to me that several people think of witches, but I'd guess that's related to...
-it sounds similar to Hecate and Hephzibah, both of which I do associate with witches
-hec sounds like heck aka hell
-Hecuba from the Iliad was a tragic figure
-it's rare and mythological
I like Hecuba nn Hex for a cat or a goat...it's about the right mix of dignified and mischievious.
