I think of Kettle Moraine when I hear it. And I know that's some landmark or another, but I couldn't say what, exactly. ^^; I just know that Moraine sounds about as name-y as Glacier, to me.
Plus, it is close to Moron, a dangerous word to bear similarity to.
I like other -aine, names, though, and -ane names. Lorraine, Elaine, and Charmaine are especially charming.

I think Charmaine is great, and I feel a little guilty for previously having considered it to be so ugly. I'm not usually big on Char- names, but that one I like.
