[Opinions] Re: Tempest
in reply to a message by irene
I don't find anything attractive about either Storm or Tempest. They just aren't names to me; and I think you have to stretch quite a bit to find a way to link the words with positive human qualities. I mean, tempestuous isn't a positive trait in a person, most would agree; most people would feel like they were always walking on eggs around a tempestuous person. There was an actress on the Cosby Show whose name was Tempestt (that spelling) Bledsoe. So there is a small precedent. Also, in the old days, there was a famous burlesque queen (read: stripper) who used the name Tempest Storm. We don't need to set the sky on fire. A little glow will do just fine.

Sorry, supposed to be under OP!Can't say I like any of them. Tempest ends with "pest", Storm makes me think of Operation Desert Storm and both names makes me think of someone who is angry all the time.
I would rather use a name from The Tempest, like Prospero or Miranda.
I used to like Temperance, but all of a sudden I started to think that it sounded way too...I don't know, chaste?
