It makes me think of the shoe company Sorel.
I think pronunciation seems ambiguous. One option sounds vaguely like Karl or Coral, the other sounds like Laurel. Both seem close to sorrow and sore.
Stylewise, it's kind of like Yarrow.
Plain, earthy, a little ragged.
