I asked an Irish friend for the pronunciation, and this was his response:
"I would say something like [ME-ock-LOO-an], and sounding very like the name "McLuhan" when you use it in a sentence."

Another friend from a different part of Ireland said "Mi-aw-LOO-on". They also said that it's almost certainly something the person's parents made up, rather than a traditional name.
The first friend said it was a male name as did a third Irish friend.

Thank you very much! I would never have guessed any of those pronunciations... I got the name from a female Irish singer, interesting that your friends both said it is a male name!
