Sloan, or more commonly
Sloane, has quickly gained popularity in the US as a feminine name. It seems to have emerged as a part of the “surnames for feminine given names” trend.
The first time I was introduced to this name, it was in Eragon, being the name of the seedy town butcher. Personally, I thought it the perfect sounding name for a butcher, and a really horrid name for a little girl. Apparently it was ranked as one of the sexiest names by a survey done s few years ago.
